Cambrian Homes was established in 2001 with Mark and Michael Blake taking over the already established business of Stately Developments.

The company’s byword from inception was one of caution.Whilst the company has grown quietly and steadily over the last eight years it did not see the dramatic growth that some other developers experienced as it was not prepared to take on the massive bank borrowings required for such growth. Instead Cambrian Homes has ensured it was always able to provide high quality homes at competitive prices. It has done this by being careful in its land purchases and always ensuring a high quality of product. These factors have ensured that during the housing slump of the last 18 months Cambrian Homes were extremely well positioned to weather the storm.

Managing Director, DavidWalls said “We provide better homes than the standard in the relevant price band to ensure our clients received better value for money from us than the nationals. The company had to operate largely with its own cash and not take on excessive bank borrowings like some of our competitors. Having stuck to these guidelines I believe we are well placed to continue our development now that the worst of the economic crisis is over”.

The Owners and Directors of Cambrian Homes now believe the housing market has bottomed out and are busy preparing themselves for the increase in demand expected for the rest of 2009 and beyond. This is evidenced by their recent office move to J2 House in Birchwood.

Cambrian Homes currently has three sites in the Bolton/Bury area which are all at different stages of development.
There is Hawkshaw Lodge which has just commenced. Hawkshaw Lodge is a development of 24 high value apartments in the picturesque village of Hawkshaw.Whilst still in the early stages of construction the development has attracted a huge number of interested parties with a significant number of clients exchanging contracts already.

The next development in the area is Sweetloves. This is a development which is near completion and caters for clients who want to live in an apartment for ease of maintenance but would still like gardens to be able to walk around and enjoy. Accessed via video entry system and secured behind electric gates, Sweetloves offers privacy and security.

The final development in the Bolton/Bury area is Butterfield Hall Farm. This is the redevelopment of an old farmstead which is now complete and has been enormously successful for the company. Of the five luxury, individual properties, only one remains, a fabulous barn conversion with amazing entertaining areas and views across the North West. Again the whole development is gated for security but each home has its own large secluded gardens too.
