New life given to old mill

Created 06-Jul-2011

The restoration and redevelopment of Bleaklow Mill, Hawkshaw, has been completed by North West residential developer Cambrian Homes.

The historic 38,000 sq ft mill, which dates back to the 19th Century, has been sympathetically reworked into 24 luxury apartments set to launch to the public next week following an exclusive preview weekend on Saturday, June 25, and Sunday, June 26.

The three-year project has seen the former textile mill transformed into a selection of spacious two and three bedroom apartments offering stunning views out over the Two Brooks Valley.

David Walls, managing director of Cambrian Homes, said: “We are delighted to have completed the redevelopment of Bleaklow Mill, the project is one that we are very passionate about and we're looking forward to launching our new scheme to the public.

“Each apartment has been finished to the highest standard with quality fixtures and fittings. We have also installed a lift to all landings, there is private parking, good security systems and the development enjoys fantastic vistas across woodland and fields.”

To launch the scheme Cambrian Homes is appealing to local residents for images of building during the period it was being used as a textile mill to create an exhibition in the show apartment. Anyone wishing to share pictures should email clarel@mcmc.co.uk or send a copy of the picture to Clare Lawrence, MC2, The Boardwalk, 21 Little Peter Street, Manchester, M15 4PS.

Hawkshaw Lodge, located off Bolton Road, will open its show apartment to the public on Thursday, June 30, and will then be open Thursday to Monday from 10.30am to 5.30pm.

Prices range from £194,950 to £469,950.
